- Abstract:This standard provides a framework describing the procedure to be followed by engineers when drawing up fire safety concepts to achieve certain fire safety objectives. The document deals with requirements for drawing up analyses, the form and content of documents and requirements for users and aids. Fire safety engineering methods are used to provide objective analyses of fire safety, taking account of the relevant circumstances which may deviate from those covered by existing provisions for design and interpretation. For instance, it is possible to assess complex situations to which standard approaches do not apply or to validate fire safety concepts.
