- Abstract:Fixed guard rails according to this standard are used on ships, excluding passenger ships. This standard contains the international safety dimensions of the international freeboard convention of 1966, which apply to fixed guard rails on board cargo vessels, only. These safety dimensions form also part of the safety rules of the See-Berufsgenossenschaft of 1981. The standard describes the stanchions and stays and includes statements on the construction of guard rails.
