- Abstract:This part of IEC 60601 is applicable to basic safety, including essential performance, of light therapy devices for household use intended for use in medical care in the home environment. Light therapy devices for home use are usually used by unskilled operators. the scope of this document includes all light sources except lasers. If a section or subsection is expressly intended only for ME devices or only for ME systems, indicate this in the heading and content of this section or subsection. If this is not the case, the section or subsection, if applicable, applies to ME devices and to ME systems.
